Welcome To ORIC PIEASPakistan Institute of Engineering & Applied Sciences, (PIEAS) has been mandated to promote education and research at its highest standards in the basic and applied fields. PIEAS was granted the status of a degree awarding institute by the Government of Pakistan in April 2000. Under the guidance of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) has been established at PIEAS since 2015 (Notified - May 2015 by HEC). ORIC is mandated to support and coordinate research and commercialization activities at PIEAS. This policy defines the role, responsibilities, mission, and operational framework of ORIC, taking into account the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) established by HEC for assessing its performance.

Rector’s Message PIEAS being amongst the top-ranking engineering universities of Pakistan puts a lot of emphasis on innovation, education and personality development of its students to better prepare them for facing the future challenges. Development and promotion of entrepreneurial culture among the students is very important, as it is a part of their professional grooming. ORIC at PIEAS has been established to promote Entrepreneurship activities among its undergraduate and graduate students and to facilitate them in establishing their own businesses. In line with the guidelines of HEC, ORIC at PIEAS is getting along well to develop, expand, enhance, and manage the university's research programs as demanded by the social and economic priorities of the country. ORIC at the university also guarantees that all the research programs reflect the core values of professional integrity and ethics and is already equipped to address the evolving needs of the time.
