The ORIC/BIC steering committee was held on June 29, 2026, to discuss and approve various matters pertaining to ORIC/BIC policies at PIEAS. The meeting was attended by Rector PIEAS and Convenor Dr. Anila Usman alongside industry expert Mr. Imtiaz A. Rastgar (Chairman Rastgar Group), senior faculty members including Dean Engineering PEAS Dr. Rizwan Alim Mufti, and ORIC management members Dr. Muhammad Tufail (Director ORIC/Rep PIEAS), Dr. Shazia Bashir (Manager RO PIEAS), Dr. Kamran Safdar (Manager BIC PIEAS), Dr. Zafar Zarif (Manager Innovation and Commercialization), and Dr. Khalid (Manager Placement, internship and industrial Linkages). Additionally, the meeting included departmental representatives Dr. Shakeel-ur-Rehman from Physics, Dr. Waqas Ahmed from Electrical Engineering, and Dr. Attaullah from Chemical Engineering.

Director ORIC, Dr. Muhammad Tufail, presided over the Closing Ceremony of Sports Week at PIEAS on May 18, 2026. The event took place in the PIEAS auditorium to celebrate the students' athletic talent, dedication, and collaborative spirit. Incharge sports Dr. Muhammad Riaz coordinated the activities for the spring semester to ensure its successful execution, while Dr. Muhammad Tufail graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, distributing shields and medals to the winners alongside other senior faculty members.

The PIEAS Open House and Career Fair 2026, organized by ORIC, concluded successfully on May 18, 2026. Final-year students from various engineering and scientific disciplines showcased more than 120 capstone projects highlighting cutting-edge technologies, research innovations, and practical solutions. The event welcomed approximately 50 renowned national and international companies and organizations that provided students with guidance on employment opportunities, internships, and career prospects. Speaking to media representatives, Dr. Anila Usman noted that the event reflected the talent and dedication of young engineers and scientists, emphasizing PIEAS's role in preparing youth through quality education, advanced research, and technological innovation.

As a joint initiative of ORIC and ASCEND to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, a meeting was held on Feb. 18, 2026, with the participation of senior representatives from both sides. The ASCEND delegation comprised Rear Adm® Tariq Mahmmod, COO(ASCEND), Cdre(R) Atif Rashid, Dir (Tech-Coord), and Dr. Asif Nawaz, GM(IT), while the PIEAS side was represented by the Rector, Pro-Rector, Director ORIC, Head PRD, and Heads of relevant departments. The COO, ASCEND, briefed the participants on the ASCEND model, its laboratories and R&D activities, and its initiative to enhance outreach to academia under the Triple Helix Model. In a display of entrepreneurial talent, InnovateX PIEAS in collaboration with ORIC PIEAS successfully hosted Agosh Season 3 on February 16, 2026. The Lyceum served as a creativity hub where more than 15 teams competed in the ORIC flagship pitching competition. Participants faced a panel of industry experts, defending their business models and proving that PIEASians are ready to lead the startup ecosystem.

On 4th December 2024, Awais Rafeeq, Founder of AI Datahouse, guided participants through identifying AI opportunities, building strong foundations, validating ideas, and using AI for social impact—equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with practical tools to launch in the AI space.

Solato Smart Solutions Pvt. Ltd. stands at the forefront of the solar industry. On September 18, 2024, Solato Smart Solutions and PIEAS signed an MoU for industry-academia linkage. Mr Muhammad Amir, Managing Director, Solato Smart Solutions, and Dr Haroon ur Rashid, Director Academics, PIEAS, signed the MoU.

"Ekolites” — a startup from PIEAS by Mohammad Ovais and Ayesha Nadeem under Dr. Zahid Iqbal — was selected for the Hult Prize Bangkok Summit at Chulalongkorn University among over 10,000 global teams. Ekolites aims to fight Pakistan's energy crisis by converting standard cycles into hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).

The PIEAS Placement and ORIC office hosted the Open House and Career Fair on May 15, 2024. Undergraduate students showcased brilliant final-year projects, establishing strong academia-industry linkages and earning direct job and internship placement opportunities.
